I had my early out yesterday for I would like to have my check-up with regard to my dysmenorrhea. Unfortunately, we dropped by The Medical City, Trinoma half hour late of their cut-off. With that, my angel and I proceed to Globe to register ProgRunner to the Globe Run for Home 2010. Afterwards, we pass by Toby's and my angel bought a couple of things. Then, RunningAtom came so we head on our way straight to Merrell to register to the Merrell Adventure Run. After successfully registering, we lead our feet home.
Upon arriving, I immediately turned on the TV and tune in to PBA; it was the first game of the Best-of-Seven Finals series between Purefoods TJ Giants (PF) and the Alaska Aces. I was only able to catch up the second half of the game. The scores were not yet flashed as both teams gain baskets alternately. Dean's List of Quinito Henson was still on the screen for a review of the First Half. The moment the scores are flashed, I was surprised that it was 41-40 in favor of my team, PF. Honestly, I was expecting that Aces would bury PF down in this game for they had 2 games rest when they beat Barangay Ginebra Kings (BGK) [4-0] back in the semis. But then again, I am still on the hopes that PF will win that night.
The third quarter is packed with defense; and I was overly excited on how PF contained Aces' triangle offense to a very low score. It just means that their zone defense had been working effectively. Well, it is given that Kerby Raymundo can make that turnaround fade away ringless shot; James Yap can hang up on the air with 2-3 defenders and still make the basket and one; and Roger Yap (though not as high scoring as with the semis) can excellently orchestrate a play to make basketball look easy. But a thing that makes my heart pumps is whenever Marc Pingris, Raffy Reavis, and Rico Maierhofer exceptionally defended Reynel Hugnatan, Tony Dela Cruz, and Sonny Thoss tallying a total of four block shots against one from Joe Devance.
In the fourth quarter, I am already rejoicing. But I refrain counting the chicks before the eggs are hatched. And so I am just hoping that PF could maintain their zone defense brilliantly. I got a little rattled when Raymundo, J. Yap, and R. Yap had been in foul trouble. Nevertheless, Coach Ryan Gregorio gambled his players trusting that they won't commit their 6th personal fouls. And I believe Coach Gregorio knows his men well that Devance had fouled out earlier than the expected Raymundo and R. Yap.
Breathtaking as it may seem, but hail to Pingris who dived for the loose ball and to R. Yap for tapping the ball backcourt so as to waste the precious time of the Aces. My heart buzzed simultaneously with the clock of the 4th Quarter with score 81-77.
If you're with me [cheering for PF], I believe you were also hoping that Game 1 will be the last game of the championship series. In fact, it feels like one when the Aces comes back with a 3 point basket. Fortunately, they were stuck with 77, their lowest score in the season.
Hmmmm, did you smell that? It certainly smells like championship. PF comes from a Sunday game against the San Miguel Beermen while Aces' last was a week ago. And yet, PF seem to come out with much fresher legs than the Aces. On second thought, it is too early to tell. The duel had just started, and this one's gonna be a long series (though PF can make a 4-0 rally if God permits). I just can't help but blog about this, for the scent of the championship trophy is a game closer to my senses.
PS:
Susie, may the best team win. I have to hate Sonny Thoss for his flapping that resulted to Kerby's offensive foul, LOL! Labyah!

Overcoming Pain
After the 7.4K mileage I had last Thursday, I feel pain every time I descend from the stairs. Sometimes, I have to limp while walking so as not to feel the pain. But eventhough I feel such pain, no one had stopped me from running in the First Leg of the RunRio Trilogy last Sunday. Simply because, if the race is organized by Coach Rio, it is absolutely good. More so, the pain subsided during the race.
Yesterday, I bring my running outfit just in case I would be on the mood to join UNILAB's running clinic at the Ultra. But earlier, I kept on informing RunningAtom that I am still tentative at attending the clinic for I am still in pain. I have that fear that I might not be able to run at UNILAB Run United for Wellness, my first 10K.
Come 5PM, I felt the urge to go.No, not because of Coach Rio, but because I do wanted to know my limits. I just told myself that I won't join the workout come I feel that I might hit the wall.
We arrived at the Ultra past 6 in the evening. The clinic did not start on time for we were still waiting for the soccer game to end. In order not to keep us waiting, coaches from FinishLine/RunRio already started our warm up by allowing us to have our 15 minutes easy jog in the quarter part of the oval. I asked ChickenLegs then to pace with me. Having someone to pace with you keeps you on track, really. But then, I can still feel the pain in my legs. It was a very slow easy jog for me. Nevertheless, I still managed to jog nonstop in the 15 minutes warm up. With every jog I make, I am on crossroads. One pull is telling me to stop, while the other is telling me to continue. If I stop, it will just make my legs sore, but if I continue, I would be able to Overcome Pain.
After the warm up comes the dynamic exercise. I joined the exercise with the thought in mind that it could help me release that pain from my legs. Unfortunately, I still feel the pain after the exercise. I asked RunningAtom to pull my legs by pointing his feet on mine. It felt a little good.
Then comes the workout which consists of 15-400m run [5 laps per set]. With my girl running buddies for the 10K, I paced with Eunice. And I am glad that I was able to keep pace with her [for she's the one who rans faster than I do last Thursday]. With each recovery, I did not stop; I walk round and round until we're all set to go again. The workout had been fun. We (the 10K girls) had that sort of bonding. Coach San Goku (well, he never told me his real name) had monitored our elapsed time. We had an average of 2:35 - 2:45 per lap. He told us to maintain just a 2:45 pace so that we still can have enough energy to finish the workout.
In each and every recovery, we find time to talk with each other (Eunice and I) and the coaches. I become acquainted with Coach George (our coach in my first clinic), Coach San Goku (who also likes Vincent of Ghost Fighter like I do), and Coach JoAr (whom I teased to be looking familiar for he was featured in Ben M. Chan's blog).
We were unable to finish the required workout for the Ultra will be closed by 9PM. In total, we only have 5.2K mileage (2K in the warm up, 2K in the first set, and 1.2K in the last set).
Coach JoAr then helped us to cool down. With all the lights off at the Ultra, we bid goodbye to each other and say "See you on Thursday!"
I don't know, but I just find the clinic enjoyable for there were no longer strangers, but acquaintances [or shall I say friends]. And to top it all, I find it magical that I no longer feel the pain in my legs. The clinic does not only prepare me to run my very first 10K, it also helped me in Overcoming Pain. Thanks to UNILAB! Thanks to the friendly and helpful coaches of FinishLine/RunRio!

I am Looking for a Low Budget Host, Any Suggestions?
I have been to a few blogger events, and I really find it awkward to pronounce my blog with that free blogspot.com domain. To make it worse, I am finding my domain myunrevealedthoughts lengthy. I had felt this awkward feeling twice.
First was on the UNILAB Bloggers Briefing. We, bloggers, were asked to introduce ourselves and advertise our blogs as well. Most of the bloggers own their own domains (which probably is worth $10 annually). At the same sense, most of them have easy to memorize or catchy domain names.
The other one was during our UNILAB running clinic. A few had acquainted with me as a blogger-runner. But everytime they would ask me on my blog’s URL; I am quite hesitant at professing it for it is long and is not so easy to remember.
I could have followed the steps of my fellow runner-blogger of renaming his blog from ekxodus to runningatom (still with the free blogspot.com domain). However, I still don’t find it appealing. I believe there’s a sense of ownership if that is something as runrio.com, thebullrunner.com, among others. And so, I am planning to have a minnierunner.com. And since I am now taking it slow at taking paid post opportunities, low budget host is something that I am looking for. Otherwise, I might not sustain the annual cost of my desired domain. Any suggestions?

I am Feeling It
Last Sunday was a long day for me. After running at the Century Superbods Run, we come home to attend the Sunday Service at my angel's place. We shared lunch afterwards.
In the afternoon, we traveled back to my place. We tried to fix his laptop. After a few tweaking, we decided to have it restored to its factory default. I lend him my external harddrive to backup his files. While waiting for the backup to be completed, we inhale cool air outside. I rested in our hammock and he played with Stephanie.
Before the sunset, we check on his laptop. The backup process is still incomplete, so I just turned on the TV to watch PBA. It was Game 6 of the Best-of-7 Semi Finals Series between Purefoods TJ Giants (PF) and San Miguel Beermen (SMB) where PF leads the series 3-2.
While watching, my angel murmured, "Sana naman manalo na ang Purefoods. (I hope PF will win.)" They have been missing the Finals Series for a long time now. And so I giggled. I told him that probably, he could not sleep at the end of the day if PF loses. First, his flash drive resulted into an unrecoverable media; second, his laptop cannot connect to the internet; and lastly, PF loses the game. But of course, those were just jokes. I give him the spirit that PF will surely win this game.
And so we attentively watched the game. We were seeing a dejavu. PF is on the driver seat at the end of the first half. My angel told me that if PF leads as much as 22 points, SMB will get back on the 3rd quarter, and eventually PF will win the game (that is exactly what happened last game).
In the last 2 minutes of the game, PFs' lead was as much as 10 points. With that, my angel is celebrating that early. I told him to stop, he is just bringing much butterfly in my stomach. I fear that the 3 point attempts of Cortez will mark a gigantic SMB comeback. But at the back of my head, I say "NO". SMB is not PF to have that great comeback, LOL!
Less than 1 minute remaining, I am already feeling the victory. SMB resorted to giving fouls to send PF to the free throw line. However, they were desperate to throw a 3 point basket when in fact they could just settle for a quick 2. The result, PFs' lead ballooned and ended the game 87-78.
Funny thing though, in the last 10 seconds of the game, my angel and I were smelling the victory and cannot contain our excitement to see PF battle with Alaska Aces in the Finals. With that, we were asking Stephanie to shake hands with us and congratulate us for the win. I even pressed Stephanie's arms and asked here, "Steph, nararamdaman mo ba 'yun? (Steph, did you feel it?)". And so I also speak out, "Steph, nararamdaman ko na. (Steph, I am feeling it)".
YES! Finally, Purefoods is out for the Finals. And I am just so excited that I wanted to be there live this coming Wednesday. BUT, I'm 100% sure that it would be dead hard to buy tickets in the reserved seating section. So most probably, I will just content myself watching at home.
Before I ended this post, let me congratulate the ever-brave point guard of one of the best defensive teams of the PBA, Roger Yap.

He ended the game with a double-double [20 points, 11 rebounds].
Well, my angel left home victorious. PF won and we were able to fix his laptop.

We're Late!
It was already past 11PM of Saturday, February 20, 2010, and I still can't fall asleep. I had my dysmenorrhea earlier and is still feeling pain in my abdomen. But NO, I won't miss Century Superbods Run.
Still a little sleepless, I woke up at 2:30AM to prepare for my 5K race at The Fort. My breakfast was hot chocolate, Nature Valley granola bar, and a tablet of Dolfenal 250mg [for my cramps]. I took a bath with warm water, prepare, and set myself to go.
I arrived at the MiniStop at the GMA-MRT station a few minutes before 5AM. I patiently wait for my angel who arrived just on time. However, due to miscommunication, we were left by our running buddies. Hence, we just hail a cab and meet them at the parking to leave our baggage.
As we traverse the streets of The Fort, we find ourselves caught on heavy traffic. The 21K and 10K runners were already having their run. So, we decided to alight the taxi and just run toward the parking. Whew! It was one [hell of a] warm-up. My legs are still in pain with my very first 7.4K mileage in the UNILAB running clinic last Thursday. I even felt that I would just be having my 5K walk all throughout.
After leaving our baggage at TsuperRunner's vehicle, we again run towards the starting line. And it was kinda disappointing that we're already late [but as far as we know, we're still on time with the announced gun start]. CaptainRunner had to pee first, and so I wait for him a little more. As we shake ourselves off to reach the starting line with thousands of runners piled up for the 3K, it took us almost 10 minutes [just to reach the start and keep us going].
And so I ran, I ran, and I ran more. I am always telling CaptainRunner to go and run with me. The sub-10 before reaching the starting line had been my motivation to push myself more [even with aching legs]. I felt side stitch in my first 300m. But I was able to manage it and be relieved from it after a few seconds. I would always took advantage of the [not so] downhill to speed up and make for our punctuality, LOL! [But beating my PR is a big NO already.]
Whenever I pass by hydration booths, I would always remember the "Running Etiquette". There were allotted drums for the water cups, and still, runners drop them on the road. It just makes the part of the route slippery and dirty. Next time runners, let's be concerned enough to others :)
I go tandem running with CaptainRunner. He just came well from sickness and have not yet trained [either in running or cycling]. And so, after a few meters, I would suddenly stop to wait for him [otherwise, I'll lost sight of him]. The crowd [of runners] is really that enormous. It is not as perfect as the Timex Run 2009. CaptainRunner asked me, "What happened?" And so I replied, "Keep quiet! This is Coach Rio's organized race event." LOL! I am sooo biased! Well, on the other hand, 11,000 runners is really too much. I hope next leg, Coach Rio would only allocate a definite number of slots for the race categories.
After crossing the finish line, we spotted Derek Ramsay being interviewed. But I dare not stop, I really don't care at all, hee hee. I even thought that he won't make it to the event.
As we continue towards the 'event park', we were surprised by the long line of 5K finishers for the loot bags. We go on separate ways, CaptainRunner piled in the never ending line while I go search for the drop boxes of the raffle. I easily found the drop boxes and return to 5K loot bags redemption. I found a shorter line and so I called CaptainRunner's attention and we easily claimed ours [with no sweat]. We then claimed our meal and the free Men's and Women's Health Magazines.
It is past 8AM, and so we have to go home to attend the Sunday service. But being able to spot Coach Rio triggered my feet to run toward him for a photo op, LOL!
The event was still great despite the number of runners who participated; but it had caused traffic over The Fort [which is definitely annoying]. But Coach Rio touched my heart as I read his gratefulness and apologies in his open letter to all the Century Superbods Run participants. He openly told us in the UNILAB's Bloggers Briefing that he really took time to read comments from races that he organizes to make the next one better. And he admitted though, that it really hurts to read such. Oh, so humble!
With the use of the Champion Chip, the race results were out immediately. And yes, it was accurate. I ranked 858th among the 1,610 runners. I crossed the finish line at 00:49:13 (oh, disappointing!), but only had a total elapsed time of 00:39:52 with 00:18:17 on my turnaround point.
See you all in RunRio Trilogy Leg 2!

Crossing the FINISH LINE is still a wonderful feeling

Screech

I suddenly stepped on the break yesterday. A lot of things had been going round my mind and heart [that I really cannot contain everything and anything all at the same time].
(Deep breath)
I was on leave last Tuesday. I had a headache. And I just felt like I really needed a break. I haven't been home for a day since February 7 [and I've been missing it]. And with me staying at home, I missed a 7.6K mileage in the UNILAB running clinic. But hey, I've got no regrets.
Lenten Season officially started yesterday. My modulemates wanted to have lunch at Shakey's [but I wanted to attend the Ash Wednesday mass at 12nn]. I could have the company of my bestfriend; but he wanted to have lunch at the canteen instead of Ulo-Ulo. So, I asked my modulemates to just have the meal at Ulo-Ulo and attend the mass afterwards. I had the ashes on my forehead, reminding me to "Repent and believe the Gospel."
As a form of abstinence, I refrain from blogging. Instead, I created a material for our tutorial [which did not transpire late that afternoon for I have to leave early (headache strikes again)]. It was a fulfilled feeling that I was able to abstain from something that I really love doing.
I had my early out [because of my headache that could probably be giving me a hint that my hate day of the month is already coming]. Knowing that my angel would be dropping by at TriNoMa, I had that delight in my heart to see him. I just MISS HIM THIS MUCH! My heart's missing him. We just have a cup of hot chocolate and parted ways. We both wanted to be home early.
Upon arriving, my mother, my brother, my sister-in-law, and Stephanie were about to leave to attend the Ash Wednesday Mass. [With a headache to take care,] I decided to be left alone. I lie in the bed and tune in the TV at RPN9 to watch PBA. It was Game 4 of the Semi Finals Best of 7 Series between Purefoods TJ Giants (PF) and San Miguel Beermen. PF tied the series 2-2. It was followed by the do or die game of Barangay Ginebra Kings (BGK) against the Alaska Aces. BGK lost the game, allowing Alaska (4-0) to advance to the Finals early on. As what Quinito Henson says, Alaska is much likely an efficiency machine [as for my angel, Alaska is playing scientific basketball. And so I thought, science defied heart (of BGK and fans)].
I lulled myself to sleep [but my sleep is not a good one. It has always been that way]. I would normally be bothered by dreams that would eventually wake me up in the wee hours. My sleep which is supposedly bringing me at peace is just making me tired. The result, I had to wake up with a heavy head and body. It just feels like I still haven't slept.
Sigh.
Delighted as I maybe in the UNILAB bloggers briefing where I felt "I am one" with the other blogger-runners; the world just seem upside down upon reading other posts of blogger-runners who [in some way] is obviously creating a discrimination of runners from other runners. It is similar to the rich and the poor, the beautiful and the ugly, the black and the white, among others.
See? My mind is so cluttered.
I don't know, but I believe there's something missing. My sad mood is on. And I still don't have the courage to remove my feet from the breaks.

My Valentine's Day
At exactly 12mn of Valentine's Day... I am at the office supporting the implementation of a project where I am largely involved with. It is somewhat annoying for I had failed to do things I had set for the day. And what's more upsetting is that we could have finished the support before midnight if not for one (please help me finish this sentence).
Since I am in an unavoidable circumstance, I simply performed my duties as a responsible employee until 4AM (I started at barely 7:30AM the day before). Sleepless, I go home and reached our town by 5AM. I pick up my things, put on my pajamas, and lull myself to sleep.
I woke up at around 8:30 in the morning and can hardly get up from bed. I would really want to get moving for I wanted to attend the Sunday service at my angel's church and greet his mother a Happy Birthday after visiting my father's tomb [lit a candle, bring flower, and offer a prayer]. But with my head aching, I get back and savor the moment of having enough sleep as much as possible.
Lunch time, I ate sopas then immediately took a bath to refresh myself. I asked my angel if I can still go; but he'd rather not allow me to. It's not that he's angry because I am late; but he's just worried that he cannot send me back home for he's sick (chilling). I would have wanted to visit him and take good care of him. But I know I would just disturb him if I do. So I just let him sleep that afternoon [while Irish and I watched Love Happens].
After not being satisfied of watching the movie, we decided to do the thing that we love best - videoke. Just when I thought Valentines Day would simply end up that way, I had found an opportunity of still spending it with the love of my life. How? By singing for him over the phone. ♥
He called me and we had a small chat about PBA (Purefoods vs San Miguel Beermen) and who among the Beermen were included in our hatelist (Penisi, Miranda, Washington). As my turn to sing comes, I told him that I'll be singing for him, and he listens.
I don't know, but I find that gesture romantic. Isn't it?
And surprisingly, I received a Valentine gift from Carmina (a Mickey Mouse and Heart Balloon).
That's how simple yet lovely my day had become. I started it with a fate that I cannot escape; but had ended it with L♥O♥V♥E. Thanks be to GOD!
How about you? How's your Valentine's Day?

I Need to Cry No More
A couple of days ago, I ask you guys if I can cry. Well, all of you agreed and allowed me to do so. But, I am just so pessimistic that time for I need to cry no more.
Authorize me not to tell you how I managed to attend the blogger's briefing of UNILAB's Run United for Wellness. Just content yourselves and be happy that I did.
RunningAtom and I met up at around 10:15AM, rode a taxi, and drop by at Burgos Circle (29th Street, The Fort). A few walks after alighting the cab already lead us to Cafe Juanita (the briefing venue).
We entered the cafe, greeted by the warm crew, and lead us to the 2nd floor. As we arrive, we were acknowledged by the smiling faces of UNILAB people (Barry, Carlos, Rochelle, and Alex). In the table was Ms. Quennie (did I spell it right?) of Takbo.ph. And of course, the (insert superlative adjective here) Coach Rio Dela Cruz.
It was an affable feeling that Rochelle recognized me as MinnieRunner (because of my post "I Love Running. I Love RIO."). From my heart, THANK YOU!
Barry introduced us to the men and women on the table; then we took our seat next to Ms. Quennie. Practically, we chat about running and blogging. The normal questions of "When did you start running?", "What category were you running?", "What is your PR?", "When did you start blogging?", "What is your blog's niche?", and then everything under the sun. It was a healthy and sound conversation. It feels like that we were all standing at the same height. Aside from having the opportunity to talk to Coach Rio and throw him questions that we long to fathom, I felt like I belong to the group. That's how welcoming the group was to the bloggers.
Rochelle accompanied us to the buffet table for lunch. The food was great. They've got Catfish Mango Salad, Rice, Kare-Kare (two thumbs up), Chicken (something), Maya-Maya Pesto Sauce (my fave), dessert, and chocolate milk shake [for my drinks]. The conversation continues as we feast with the delectable meal. Sir Alex of UNILAB is so nice and we really get along with him that easy (and he looks good).

After the hearty meal, we were asked to introduce ourselves and proclaim our blogs. Bloggers who attended the briefing does not necessarily be a runner. Some had health, lifestyle, and food blog among others. To kick off the briefing, UNILAB showed an AVP that entertains and educates us about the race.
Coach Rio then take the floor to discuss the main entree of the event - UNILAB's Run United for Wellness. He basically relay to us the route map and how the hydration booths were strategically located (similar to that of Timex Run 2009). He also bring up the Champion Chip that will be used on the race together with the elegantly packed race kit. In addition, he also showed the simple singlet included in the packet.

Successively, Sir Alex discussed the Wellness Village that will be put up on the race day where each runner will fall into a categorized tent to receive cream of the crop advices from running experts. Of course, there will be freebies to be given away. In lieu of the usual loot bags that were given to race finishers, UNILAB race finishers will be given back packs (that made my eye popped). Hmmmm, I'll be running my first 10K then. I hope I could finish early enough to have one. *fingers crossed* He also mentioned a number of celebrities that will be joining the event (could be running or just partaking in the awarding ceremony). Ryan Agoncillio will be the master of the ceremony. Dingdong Dantes, Angel Locsin, Gonzaga sisters, Monseur del Rosario, and Alvin Patrimonio were among those who confirmed their support. WOW! The Captain will be joining the event! Looking forward to seeing him, yey!!!

Question and answer followed wherein I really learned a lot with respect to running. You may think that I am breathing running with my 12 organized runs. But no, I'm still a newbie and has many things to learn [and many carbs to eat before I can run a full marathon]. I also take the opportunity to ask Coach Rio about the proper carboloading. He told us that carboloading is a week long activity, and not just a night-before-the-race eating. That's something worth taking note of.
Before bidding goodbye, we were given complimentary gift bags from UNILAB (handed to us by Coach Rio, himself). What's inside the bag? It's for you to see. Lock your jaws for you might drop it hard, LOL!

Thanks to the organizing team of UNILAB for this event. This is really something that I dreamed of. Specifically, thanks to Barry for the invites. See you on Tuesday at the running clinic [and see you all on March 7]!

My First Formal Training in Running
Yesterday is the kick-off of my first formal training in running [courtesy of UNILAB].
Okay, a quarter before 5PM I already transformed from an office gal to a runner buff. Then at exactly 5:11PM [BanditRunner, RunningAtom, and I] are already set to go. We were suppose to take the MRT up to Shaw Station; but since they don't have MRT [stored value] tickets, we decided to just hail a cab to bring us straight to Ultra.
We had traversed Kamuning with a moderate traffic until we reached Santolan. Then a moderate to heavy traffic welcomed us from Ortigas until we reach Ultra. Good thing, we still managed to come on time for the 6PM running clinic.
Somewhat lost, we try to find the entrance of the Ultra, only to find out a 'somewhat warehouse' as the passage to the oval. So there, we entered and raom our eyes to spot a banner of UNILAB's running clinic or something; only to surprise ourselves with three Kenyan runners who were running soooo fast [non stop] in the oval. Then someone from behind asked us, "UNILAB po?" We nodded and stayed within the group as we wait for some more runners who will attend the clinic.
I was unable to keep track of what time we started. The coaches started to group the crowd in accordance to the race distances that we were registered. Initially, there were only three of us for the 10K [RunningAtom, 'someone', and I]. Coach George [or Jorge] started our running clinic by having our drill of 2K [5 laps nonstop]. I bet he overheard me asking RunningAtom to keep pace with me; hence, he adviced us to keep our own paces and just be back at the same spot after 5 laps. But RunningAtom kept his pace with me until the 4th lap.
As we traverse the oval, I am running my moderate run (the green zone). And I am really overwhelmed that I was able to keep such pace after 4 laps. I decided to have an easy run (the blue zone) on the last lap; but since I am already feeling the call of nature, I stayed on my green zone and finished the 2K distance by 0:13:34.66. On the route, I am oftentimes overtaken by the Kenyan runners; and I hardly noticed it for they were like strong wind that just passes by my side.
Then we have the recovery [while I have my pee, LOL]. After a few minutes, Coach George made us perform dynamic exercises. Those were much much different than our regular stretching before the race. It is somewhat likened to the warm up being performed by PBA cagers. I so love the horizontal walk [or whatever it was called].
After that quick exercise, we were now ready for our workout that constitutes:
There is, however, a point in my last 400m run wherein a cloud appeared in my left telling me, "Why are you torturing yourself? You can stop running and just walk." On the right cloud, a voice is telling me, "Continue with your pace, you were 200m away from the finish." I followed the right cloud and unbelievably finish my last workout with the same [constant] pace [overtaking several runners ahead of me].
Last part was the cool down wherein we perform several stretching. And surprisingly, UNILAB got free tumblers for the first 100 runners. Hooray!
Before calling it a day, of course, RunningAtom and I have to have a picture with Coach Rio [one of our main purpose in joining the clinic, LOL].

I am looking forward on my second training on Tuesday (hope I could maintain the endurance I had yesterday)! See you [Coach Rio] there! Oh, and by the way, thanks to UNILAB.

How Will You Spend Valentine's Day?
Two days from now, most couples will already be celebrating a romantic moment together; probably on a fine dining with red wine, steak, and chocolate cake. Or some might be having an out of town, somewhere away from the busy streets of the city, to trek or walk and be at one with nature. And some might be running and enjoying the trail of Nuvali, Laguna and traverse that 11K route in order to cross the finish line holding each others hands. (Oh well, I still can’t get over with this one.)
Since I cannot have such [Thrill of the Trail] celebration on Valentine’s Day, I am thinking of just pampering ourselves (my angel and I) at a spa. It’ll be best to treat our tired legs and muscles from running. Definitely, for practicality, my choice would be at Wensha Spa [that offers 6 hours of stay at the spa plus an eat all you can meal]. But if I want it to be something romantic, I’ll be choosing Spa 6750.
Disclaimer: This is not the exact bathroom at Spa 6750, I just posted the picture for illustration purposes.
I just read it from a magazine while having my haircut and have its number saved in my cellphone [just in case I wanted to visit the place someday]. I find delight in their couple’s room with all the rose petals scattered on the floor. Not only that, the room got a private bathroom as well romantically decorated [still with rose petals]. The magazine featured the bathroom and shows how they create a romantic mood [which I definitely find lovely]. The white curtain falls freely on the floor. The bath tub is filled with petals that will create a wonderful scent in the bathroom. They also have scented candles that will add up to the aroma on the air. The elegant shower tray holds the toiletries [which I believe are of perfect scent as well that could create a Valentine’s Day mood]. After that petal bath, you will be having an hour massage of your choice to relax your stressed muscles.
Isn’t it wonderful to have that relaxation this Valentine’s Day? What do you think?

Can I Cry?

I can right?
Have you experienced those extreme feelings [at both ends] that you had felt abruptly [and with such a rapid change]? It is like one minute you are very overwhelmed and can't contain the excitement and the next minute you're at your wits end [knowing that what you've been excited a minute ago will never gonna happen].
Have you?
I do.
I had experienced such gush a couple of times now. And it was a torture to my fragile heart that makes me felt like crying [which seems that you're against the world].
Well, this maybe something shallow to some [but for me, it means the most]. The first time I had this experience was during my Thrill of the Trail excitement. I just can't contain my feeling that I am already planning [and dreaming] of spending Valentine's Day with my angel through running 11K at Nuvali, Laguna [and finishing the race holing hands]. Only to find out at the end of the day that my angel wouldn't want to join.
And the second one was just recently [yesterday]. I had inquired about the running clinic of UNILAB's Run United for Wellness and got a quick response. Not only that, I got an invites to the Bloggers Briefing about the race [which will be spearheaded by Coach Rio, himself]. You see, this is something that RunningAtom and I have been dreaming of [to be able to participate in such blogger-runners meet]. The enthusiasm I had back then was similar to what I had felt in Thrill of the Trail. And the same disappointment is what I've got knowing that I had to render an overtime work this coming weekend [same date of the briefing].
I can no longer elaborate. I just had that feeling of extremes. And the fall of my soaring excitement is just so painful [for my heart].
I just felt that I had so many opportunities that I had let to slip from my hands. Opportunities that is of great worth [for me] that I'm sure will bring joy [in my individuality]. Am I missing the old me? I had remember before that I had taken a couple of risks just to be happy and to aim high [or simply escape from being miserable]. One was when I had decided to go back a day ahead from my Bohol [technology transfer] activity so as not to miss my one day employment processing at Smart Communications. The other one was when I submitted a resignation letter [at Smart Communications] without a new work waiting for me just because I don't wanna go to work daily crying.
It feels like my head is crowded right now [and my heart's feeling all the pessimism]. What I simply wanted is to... CRY.

Getting Ready for UNILAB Run United for Wellness
It was exactly a week that I had registered myself for my very first 10K run [this coming March 7]. I know for a fact that I have to have a I throw them a couple of concerns: (1) First was if the running clinic is open for UNILAB Run registrants only; and (2) if there's a way to secure a slot before proceeding at the Ultra for we will be coming from East Avenue.
Thrilled and excited, they answered my questions promptly. And here's what they have to say:
- The running clinics are open to the public, registered or not in the Unilab Run United. We encourage though that runners register for the run because Coach Rio designed the running clinics as preparation for Run United. Rio and his team of coaches will train different groups: beginners, intermediate, advanced, so you can surely find a group to fit in.
- We don't have pre-registration for the running clinics, but Rio's team has been given flexibility to accommodate over a hundred runners. If you arrive and 100-slots have been filled in, you can still be accommodated for free but you will have to pay the P35 entrance fee to the track and field oval.

Condura Run Race Organizers Made Me Eat My Words... NOT REALLY
I have been anticipating a not so organized Condura Run with my early commentaries. And now that the event is finished, I now had the answers to my anticipated shortcomings from the RACE organizers.
Foremost, in the claiming of race kits, it was a breeze. We arrived at the Condura Village around 7:30PM, Friday, and found a tent with several booths labeled with race categories and alphabets with no one on the queue. Since I felt like I would be having no trouble at all in claiming, I first claimed the race kit of RunningAtom. Then, I walked towards the 10K (M Surname) to claim BanditRunner's. The helpful marshal, seeing I still had three acknowledgment receipts at hand, offered his help and have all the race packets claimed while I was just waiting at a corner. And then after a few minutes, I already had five race packets (plus the other one is with ProgRunner's).But that's not the climax of the night. What's more interesting is that I spotted Coach Rio Dela Cruz with a group of runners. I really wanted to have a picture with him then, but ProgRunner would not want to have my picture taken. I just told myself, if it was RunningAtom who's with me, he'll probably be having his picture taken ahead of me. So there, I am dumbfounded for I am expecting another Adidas KOTR Running Expo. Well, only I am expecting a DIY personalized race bib similar to that of Adidas' and not a race bib to have your name written. Also, the souvenir shirt does not have a check mark for which category I had registered. (1 pt for Condura, 1pt for me)

Come race day, I woke up at 2:30AM as always. Since we've got no companion where we could leave our things, we left ours at their baggage counter. And unlike the PhilStar Celebrity Run baggage counter, theirs is a thumbs up for they took care of our belongings. (2 pts for Condura, 1pt for me)
Frankly, I am astonished with how the event was 'well-organized'. They had AV presentation plus an animation of the race map. I so love the fireworks display which is simultaneously lighted with countdown before the gun start. With that chill, I even forgot to start my Timex watch to keep track of my elapsed time. But that was just a few seconds after the gun start; so, that won't be much of a difference with my official time come the race result would be released. (3 pts for Condura, 1pt for me)
Just like any runner, I am there to race and beat my Personal Record (PR). With my regular running, I can now endure a much more longer running-before-walking interval. Actually, I only got few walks in the whole 5K distance with Condura Run. I can't even believe it when we had passed by the 3K after only 20 minutes or less (my best was 22). Well, we don't even stop by the hydration booths for they were only offering water; and I prefer Powerade or Gatorade to have me refueled. Though, I must say that their hydration facilities were enough. With regards to their marker, well they've got one for the 3K and another when there's only a kilometer left. (4 pts for Condura, 2pt for me)
As we passed by the cue for the last KM left, I am very much enthusiastic for I had 26 minutes in my watch. In my mind, this will gonna be another PR for me (with ETA at the Finish by 0:34). And so I had my easy to moderate run. But I just don't know why am I feeling that the last KM is that far that I felt that I really tired my legs early on, finishing the race with just an easy run (and with an aching left knee). Nonetheless, after crossing the finish line, I turned around and saw the official time as 0:34:02, while my watch told me it's 0:33:18. The feeling is really overwhelming. Earlier before the race, I am telling myself that I won't long for a new PR for I am afraid that I might not be able to beat it. Only to find out that I had been improving in each and every race - the feeling is unexplainable, undefinable.
With my new PR, we headed on to claim our medals (one that I am really proud of wearing). Since most of the runners piled up on the 100Plus drink and loot bag first, we were able to claim our medals right on the spot without falling in line. And so we go back to the 100Plus line. Back on the ground where the stage is situated, we enjoyed the freebies for the runners - Selecta Ice Cream on Stick (I've got three), Nature Valley Energy Bar, VitWater, and Men's and Women's Health Magazines. It was great to have a number of sponsors that could satisfy the runners after toiling their registered distances. I must say that I really enjoyed the freebies (especially the Selecta Ice Cream). (5 pts for Condura, 2pts for me)
While waiting for the announcement of winners (and expecting a raffle which does not happen), we wander around the venue for some items (and I wander my eyes around to spot Coach Rio). Seeing the RunRio Trilogy tent, I had spotted that afro man. The next thing that happen, of course, was to have a souvenir photo with him.
The RunRio Trilogy tent has an on-site registration for the UNILAB Run United for Wellness and Century Superbods Run which we are already registered. Coach Rio handed us registration form for the upcoming Camarines Sur Marathon this September 26, 2010 (Irish' birthday). And I just can't go over with the excitement to partake in this event.
We had also spotted several celebrities (well-known runners) such as Eric Reyes (former PBA Cager - Alaska) and Jaymie (The Bull Runner herself).
All-in-all, the event is an organized one.Kudos to the race organizers who were able to make me eat my words. I am uberly excited to blog about Condura Run yesterday but found myself singing along at our videoke with Irish. At the same time, I still got no pictures to post, so I just waited for today and the race results to be out before blogging about my pleasant experience with the race. But to my disappointment, the race result is not that appealing to me. Well, I could have congratulated them with how fast their release of the race result was (just a day after the race). But only to find out that they recorded my time as 0:37:03. WHAT?! How in the world can I cross the Finish Line with such time? I am probably already wearing my medal that moment and already had my picture taken.
Going back, I could have wanted no fireworks and AV presentation before the gun start, no markers on the route, no Selecta Ice Cream freebie on the event, and days before the release of race result in lieu of an accurate race result. You see, a runner (serious or competitive) is really after beating their own PRs. And having such race result (too far from my recorded elapsed time) is a frustration. Thus, just when I thought that Condura Run Race Organizers Made Me Eat My Words... well, NOT REALLY! They had just disappointed me. Race result is one of the most important things in a given race (as far as I am concerned). I would not take no timing chip as an alibi for NBPR had provided an accurate race result without using the RFID technology. *argh* (4 pts for Condura, 3pt for me and let me deduct the pts I had given Condura for the AVP and Ice Cream; hence, 2pts for Condura, 3pts for me)
** I failed to mention that some of the 21K runners failed to claim their medals since some of those who registered late still claimed theirs when in fact they should not. I cannot speak how bad the feeling could have been for those runners, but that's one point I had raised on my previous post.
And then after a few minutes, I already had five race packets (plus the other one is with ProgRunner's).

Taking It Slow
What I have learned from running is – I need not to wear out my legs just to finish the race (especially when it is a long distance run). The proper running would mean starting it slow and finishing it fast. In the genesis of my running career, I would normally run as fast as I could once I hear the gun start; only to find myself walking without even reaching halfway of the 5K mark. What’s more frustrating is that, I got to see a lot of runners overtaking, leaving me behind, and making me eat their dust. But since I’m more of a serious runner now, who is aiming at completing a full marathon in the coming years, I had learned the rule. I started slow and slowly speeding up my pace as I go on with the race route. And if time comes that I would feel that my legs are so numb, I won’t walk, but rather do the easy jog – Taking It Slow (but not stopping). This same principle, I would want to adopt in my online life – my blogging. You may have noticed that for the month January, I had 53 posts. WOW! That’s nine posts greater than what I had blogged two years ago. However, disclosing the number paid posts would reveal 1:1.00000009 ratio of paid versus non-paid posts. And that alone is making me ILL. I am really feeling that this blog’s a mess. This is not me. More so, this is not how I wanted this blog to be.
I created this blog to showcase the thoughts that I maybe afraid of speaking out; but I find essential to be blogged. This blog, as the name implies should contain the thoughts that I haven’t been revealing – My Unrevealed Thoughts. And slowly, I had turned this into an online journal – the places I’ve been, the food I ate, the things I’ve done, etc. But never had I imagined that this blog would house a number of product reviews and links in exchange of a small amount of money (sometimes as little as $0.50). At first I am enjoying it. Little did I know that I can actually earn through blogging. But my aim at earning $200 in three months is creating monstrous garbage here. And I hate it.
Come February (actually after I blogged about the Real Leaf Paparazzi), I become lax on reserving and bidding on paid post opportunities. You may have noticed that I got a post a day this month. And it was all ME. And I absolutely love it. Thus, I am now preserving this blog to be a PERSONAL BLOG that will shelter my thoughts without pretensions, without force, and without bias.
Did I hear someone murmuring, “Sayang!” Or is somebody thinking that I am wasting my chance of earning? Well, I am not totally closing my doors to paid posts. It’s just that, I wanted to clean up this blog, by stopping publishing sponsored posts here. And in order to still have those dollars in my PayPal account, I am planning to have this:- My Unrevealed Thoughts – purely Personal Blog
- Odds and Ends – movies, music, TV show, entertainment, photos
- My Puzzle Piece – food, places
- Not So Personal (New Blog) – awards, meme, contests, reviews
There you go. This blog will be purely Personal, while the other three will cater paid posts. I know it will take me again a considerable amount of time to have those blogs the Page Rank required to have a paid post. In this regard, I will endure the labor, and in due time, I could once more earn through paid posts – and won’t feel that this blog’s a TRASH. For now, I will be Taking It Slow.

Can't Help But Comment
We were supposedly claiming our race packets at the Condura Village tomorrow for the Condura Run on Sunday. But we might just have change of plans with the recent development/changes with the claiming of race packets. I browse over the Announcement section of the official website of the Condura Run 2010 - Run for the Dolphins and Can't Help But Comment on how they planned the race to happen. I am hoping that I am underestimating their abilities to organize the event. Otherwise, I would have proclaimed that they should have just acquire FINISHLINE as their race organizer. Am I seeing another My R.A.C.E. Experience of sort?

Foremost, in the redemption of race packets, they had instituted separate tents per category and surname. It was indeed a bright idea.I am already seeing the monotonous line at the Adidas KOTR Running Expo. But the problem is, on my part, there were only two of us who would claim six race kits; which, as I take a look on their chart, will be claimed at five different tents. Well, I asked their secretariat and I was informed (by Vic Pielago) that I can ask their marshalls to help me collect all six race kits. I do HOPE that they would lend me a hand come that they would be expecting 8,000-10,000 runners.
Update : I received another email from their secretariat (by Ton Concepcion) and here's what he has to say:
Hi
Oh my, who's telling the truth?
I would like to highlight their last statement, "Make sure you cross the correct finish line corresponding to your distance". When in fact it is really our responsibility to cross the finish line, I do hope that they would have sufficient marshalls that could lead us to the proper race route; at the same time, I do hope that they have markers that are strategically located along the route so that runners won't get lost. It was FRUSTRATING to be lost. I don't wanna have another PhilStar Celebrity Run chaos.
While it is intelligent for them to have a medal tents for those who availed of the regular registration; I am wondering how they can be assured that the runners who will line up to the tent really is eligible of the medal. If they would be answering my comment right now that the DIY race bib will help them recognize regular registrants; then, I would be raising my voice and quickly reply that they could have just award us the medal right after crossing the finish line (just like what New Balance had done).
Okay, I am not having negative comments alone. Their portalets allocation is quite beneficial to those who will feel the need to respond to nature's call along the route.
Thanks for that very warm message. I am also bidding you Good Luck, hoping that Condura Run will be a success. AND, hope you will let me eat my words on my too early reactions.

Hi
Thanks for your email
I understand your concern
Unfortunately we dont have group redemption
We have 8,500 runners who will claim their kits in 3 days.
thats almost 3,000 runners a day
we will have 50 people to assist and we hope that the redemption is quick and orderly.
we will take in your suggestion for the next condura run
thanks for joining

TWO FINISH LINES: In order to avoid congestion, two finish lines have been set up. One finish line is for the 3k and 5k participants, and another for those running 10k, 21k, and 42k. .
The 3k/5k finish line is at 28th Street, while the 10k/21k/42k is at 29th Street. Make sure you cross the correct finish line corresponding to your distance.

MEDALS: After crossing the finish line, those who availed of regular registration may troop over to the Condura Village and look for the medal tents. There will be medal tents for each distance – runners could just line up to the tent corresponding to the distance they ran.

PORTALETS:
There will be thirty (30) portalets at the Condura Village, and six (6) portalets in two key points in the race route.
1. Condura Office (Buendia cor Malugay – by The Columns condominium) – three (3) portalets
2. Skyway Magallanes off-ramp – three (3) portalets
Okay, I am not having negative comments alone. Their portalets allocation is quite beneficial to those who will feel the need to respond to nature's call along the route.
DON’T FORGET:
HAVE FUN! ENJOY THE MOMENT! AND GOOD LUCK! CONGRATULATIONS!

I Love Running. I Love RIO.
I have been updating the 'About Me' section of my social networking sites to include I love running. I love RIO. I am not quite sure though if my friends noticed it. Anyhow, I just wanted to proclaim the people and the things that I really love. As of this writing...
I just can't believe how I had transformed from an indoor and stay-at-home kid to, uhmmm, a certified athlete. Well, it's good. The metamorphosis that I had undergone is definitely for the better. And I had changed just in time. It is quite ideal to be a stay-at-home kid when you were still studying; and be active outdoors when you were on your adulthood (when you were already working).
After three weeks of race event drought (or shall I call it El NiƱo), I can finally set my feet once more on the starting line and aim at having a new personal record (PR) right after crossing the finish line on Sunday, at the Condura Run.Okay, I might be exagerating on the 'drought' adjective; but, I am just having that something's missing feeling for my last race was January 17, at the Bull Run. I believe my co-runners would definitely agree with this feeling. Right RunningAtom?
Well, I just can't contain my excitement that on Sunday, I'll be wearing my new Takbo.ph singlet. The color jives with my Nike LunarGlide+.
With my regular Friday jog of 6.6K, I am hoping for a pain free run this Sunday. And just when I thought that I will be having my first 10K run on April; I have to correct myself for I had registered myself (including CaptainRunner) to run a 10K category at UNILAB's Run United for Wellness. It was an unplanned 10K registration. I already filled up the registration form for a 5K run. We were about to register three 5K's and a 10K. However, Planet Sports Trinoma got only one 5K race packet left. Although we can register for 5K and just return at the store to claim our race packets, I am encouraged by RunningAtom to register for a 10K instead. And since I really wanted to have the race kit right away, I called my angel...
I'd rather not translate the conversation in English though, he he. So, there, I filled up a new form and have ourselves registered for 10K.
Now, I am 100% sure that you are believing that I Love Running. How about RIO? Aside from my post While Everyone's After Derek Ramsay... I am after Coach Rio; let me say that part of my inspiration is his pang-Maalalaala Mo Kaya story. And I let him know...
My comment on Coach Rio's Road to Boston. Rors, I am one foot ahead of you now, LOL!
I'm simple. I love my family. I love my angel. I love my friends. I love PBA. I love internet. I love green. I love pasta. I love chocolates. I love D'OFFICIALS. I love CP#22. I love KR#5. I love running. I love RIO.

CaptainRunner: Sige, okay lang, Linggo ba 'yan?

MR: UNILAB Run for Wellness. Ano, 10K tayo?
CR: Sige
MR: Okay, babye, love you.
