I Want to Bring Back My Anonymity

The moment I take everything slow, I find peace and contentment here in my blog. I am seeing the real me each time I read my posts [and not haunted by paid posts]. I haven't earned that much since then, but I am still happy sharing my thoughts here. I guess that's just how this blog should serve me - an online journal of my thoughts.

But just now, I am troubled on what to share. Probably there's just things that I wanted to write here, but never wanted others to read. This blog is already branded. And this has been read by a number of friends close to my heart. Although I do want them to know my thoughts, there were just things that I wanted to pour out yet maintain my anonymity.

I tried to trackback and read some of my posts two years ago and find a different MinnieRunner there. Those were the times when I got the chance to blurt out my thoughts without inhibitions that someone might be able to read my post and confront me. It was then that I realized that being anonymous is really what my blog is all about. The title My Unrevealed Thoughts clearly suggests that this blog will contain the things that runs in my mind which I prefer to share to everyone except those who know me.

Did you get my point?

Well, you see, the thoughts that I can reveal and easily speak about is an open book. May it be on how much I love CaptainRunner, how I am into running now, or how much I wanted Purefoods to bag the Championship Crown with Kerby Raymundo to be hailed as the Finals MVP. So, most probably, I should rename this blog as My Revealed Thoughts.

But then again, it would seem useless for this blog should serve me the purpose of being able to blurt out the things that I just cannot reveal - My Unrevealed Thoughts. However, I just cannot easily post an entry about those unrevealed thoughts because I am no longer anonymous. Or to make it easier to comprehend, I am not that brave enough to reveal my thoughts to everyone.

Sigh. For now, I just Want to Bring Back My Anonymity.

The mask reminded me of the Jabbawockeez. hehe

Well, I truly understand your point. Ako rin, naramdaman ko na yan. I mean, para san pang gumanit ng pseudonym na Badong? Pero wala na yun.

I completely agree. In the age of Facebook, twitter, etc., people tend to know way too much about one another.

Madz, just reveal the things you're comfortable sharing with the world. That's all right. You can be appreciated two ways: Your courage in revealing the things you share and your extreme good taste in leaving out the things that need not be shared at all.

Minsan pag wala nang mystery it becomes boring. :)

I think anonymity is pretty much widespread on the net, you can anyone you wanna be. On the other hand, if you flaunt who you are, then yes it is dead.

Anonymity is overrated, unless you're in the witness protection program. People are interested in your thoughts because you're real to them - they can relate. They can't relate so well to someone who isn't real. (The anonymous folks are always suspected of deceit - of playing games with people and manipulating people.) There are simply some things we probably shouldn't blurt to anyone but ourselves and our closest loved ones. Those things are not for blogging - but only you can know where the line is drawn.

Did you ever read my post, "Why Blog? Naked Thoughts in Public"?

If there are things that you would like to blurt out but want privacy, you can always have me.

I do understand,me as a secretive person and always have hesitation to share my story. As I started my blog, i tried even not writing it all, though my main reason is to have a personal journal of me.(bec of the technology, writing using a pen and paper, as I always do before is not cute anymore,hehehe) :)

@lina, thanks for understanding.

@badong, exactly, we uses pen names to hide our real selves from the public, and to be able to share what's on our mind freely. That's how I picture this blog to be. Not until my friends whom I meet daily were able to know this.

@movers, my case is different from those social sites.

@jan, I agree with you jan, and I never wanted to become boring.

@dhemz, maybe I will just stick to that and cover my unrevealed thoughts by creating a short story of sort.

@promotional, I am thinking of creating another blog for the purpose of my anonymity, but I guess NO, I won't.

@Holly, will read that one :)

@CaptainRunner, thank you ♥

@d-loner-runner, you reminded me of the very purpose of a diary. Indeed, technology cannot replace everything manual :)

@ayu, yes, I do feel lighter and cared :) Super Thanks!

@Vicy, God Bless!

@Fr, yeah, I'd better do that instead.

I agree with your decision to keep things private. It seems that nowadays it's difficult to keep anything private especially because of the internet.

hi, minnierunner, didn't see you at the unilab run kanina. i hope you had fun.

i so get this post. i also have several blogs but there's a need for privacy. so i created a secret, unbranded online diary na para sa akin lang. it can be read by everyone but they don't know it's me. :)

@Provo, indeed, internet has caused so much trouble - such as identity theft.

@rochelle, I had so much fun. It was a breeze even if it was only my first 10K. I never get tired :) The cheerers surely did help :D

Today it is harder and harder to create anonymity. You have to be super pro-active to even atempt it.

But at least not being "famous" we arent haunted by things like the Strisen Effect.

And I don't wanna be famous either :D
